Drug title

Zyloprim (Allopurinol)

Usage indications

Zyloprim is a medication used to treat goat. It is used in patients with increased uric acid content in the blood or urine as a result of some cancer chemotherapy types. It is sometimes used in the treatment of calcium oxalate kidney stones and escalated content of uric acid in the urine. It may also be prescribed by your doctor for other ailments.

Mode of application

Take Zyloprim upon your doctor’s prescription. Accurate intake dose instructions can be found on the label of the drug.

Take Zyloprim orally after food to avoid stomach disorders. While taking Zyloprim, it is advised to drink a lot of additional fluids. Consult your doctor for recommendations. Do not withhold from taking Zyloprim even if you feel in good health. Avoid missing any doses.

In case you miss an intake time, seek to take the drug immediately. If the following intake time is near, leave the missed dose out and follow your regular intake plan. Do not take a double dose at once.

Mechanism of action

Zyloprim is a xanthine oxidase inhibitor working to decrease the production of uric acid in a body.

Uric acid is a decay product of purines in foods. Uric acid is crystallized in the body tissues which results in the inflammation of gout. High blood uric acid levels can also be the reason of kidney disease and stones. Allopurinol is active in averting uric acid kidney stones and staving off recurrent bouts of podagric arthritis.

Missed Doses

In case you miss an intake time, seek to take the drug immediately. If the following intake time is near, leave the missed dose out and follow your regular intake plan. Do not take a double dose at once.

Storage

Keep in storage at 15-25 degrees C (59-77 degrees F) in a dark place and protect from moisture.
